Light Reactive Prisma Fabric Info.

Cotton-rich jersey fabric with magical Light Reactive design. The fabric shows one design in ‘standard indoor’ light and displays an array of colourful shades when is then exposed to the UV rays in sunlight.

Please be aware this is a super quality fabric but it is a novelty effect. While it will wash and keep its properties for quite some time eventually it will fade. We have washed sample pieces up to 10 times with little change to the finished effect. However, this can vary. Further washing info below in the Washing Instructions tab. 

Although it is a novelty, to give you an idea of the quality, the same type of fabric has been used in garments by a large, up-market high street fashion chain – so although you must exhibit some care the chain was happy to use the fabric.

To order simply add metres to your basket – we will cut as one continuous length. Half metres are available by entering 0.5 (half metre), 1.5 (one and a half metres) etc.

Sewing Your Jersey Fabric

Along with the actual Jersey Fabrics we are pleased to offer you all the ‘bits and bobs’ around the edges that make sewing Jersey easier and much more effective.

Here are some crucial items:

Needles – Stitch with . The ball of the needle parts the Jersey fibres rather than piercing them to help ensure the elastic quality remain intact.

Thread – Stitch with , this is a poly/cotton fibre. Alternatively if you would prefer to work with a pure cotton option  will also stitch perfectly.

General Purpose Thread is included if you ‘add a matching thread above’.

Interfacing –  are created especially for working with fabrics such as Jersey. They add a little more body to make sewing easier.
